José Luis Gayà reached 376 official appearances for Valencia CF in 2024/25
José Luis Gayà surpassed club legends such as Pep Claramunt and Carlos Arroyo for official appearances for Valencia CF during the 2024/25 season. The Valencia CF captain has now played 376 official matches for the club.
Since joining the VCF Academy at the age of 11, he rose through the ranks to become a key player for VCF Mestalla, then made his first team debut on October 30th, 2012, in a Copa del Rey match against UE Llagostera.
From there, he became the second-youngest player in the club's history o reach 350 official appearances (at 28 years and 289 days), behind only Fernando Gómez Colomer, who achieved the milestone at 27 years and 239 days.
Currently, Gayà has several Valencia CF icons ahead of him on the all-time appearances list: Dani Parejo (383), Enrique Saura (400), Santiago Cañizares (416), Manolo Mestre (424), Miguel Ángel Angulo (434), David Albelda (485), Ricardo Arias (521), and Fernando Gómez Colomer (553).
